This traditional and sacred Templar cross has been discovered within secret shrines and on the graves of celebrated Knights Templar, sanctifying their resting places with respect and in celebration of their pure and noble status. The Consecration Cross may bring its wearer a sense of Nobility and Higher Purpose.
The Knights Templar were noble men who promised to defend God’s Holy City and be His Soldiers for the rest of time. They were the Christian arm of the Free Masons, a society devoted to the pursuit of excellence and knowledge. The Knights Templar believed that they were the heralds of Christ and rode into the battle of Jerusalem carrying the emblem which is the red cross of the Catholic Church. Some of the members were clergymen or warrior monks who belonged to a holy order who have promised to defend the faith.
The Cross of Consecration has been used to mark the tombs and graves of those who have served in the holy battle. Some of the graves were kept secret since Philip IV, King of France has denounced his connection to the Templars and condemned them to death. It was said that the Knights knew a secret so strong that it threatened the stability of the church.
The Cross of Consecration, much like the Cross Patee’ which they carried in battle was of the colour red to symbolize the blood of Christ. The blood of Christ which cured the eyes of the Roman Sentinel who pierced his side at the foot of the cross. It is also said to signify the valour of those who wear it. The Cross of Consecration pendant, much like the cross of the crusaders is a symbol of faithfulness and balance. It is a signifier of courage and nobility.
The cross is also decorated with four triquetras on each arm. The triquetra was a symbol often used to depict the Holy Trinity or the three faces of the Goddess. It is unclear who has first used it if it were Christians or Pagan. But one thing for sure is that the Vikings has similar symbol the valknut, a knot which is a sign of Odin and immortality. This symbol strengthens the pendant. It gives it a mystical power which connects to eternity and the afterlife.
You will also notice a Yin-Yang symbol in the middle of the pendant. This symbol connotes both the gentle and peaceful side of the soul as well as the brave and courageous side. The symbol shows that in life, though there maybe adversity, we may use it to find balance and harmony so that we may live a life which is notable and honourable.
Wear this pendant as a memory to the past sacrifices that the Knights Templar offered for their faith or as a mysterious object relating to the mystery of the ancient arm of Free Masonry. You can carry it as a symbol of honour, courage and valour. Be brave!
